Enjoy the wind

The air of the open sea is what many people come to the Cöte d'Opale for throughout the year. On Hardelot 's 17 kms of beach, there is plainty of room for a whole range of sporting activities.

Sailing, kayaking, kite-flying, kite-surfing, speed-sail... There is something for everyone.

The main attraction hewever is sand-yachting which owes its begginnings to Louis Blériot, the aviator who lived in Hardelot. In the hands of an expert, a sand-yacht can reach up to 100 kms/h. Each season, the Club des Drakkars organizes a sportive meeting in his memory and invites you to try your hand at the techniques and pleasures of this exciting sport.

The "Base nautique et de glisse" situated at the southern end of the sea-wall cover most of these activities. Do not hesitate to ask the instructors for more informations.
